Stuff to buy (or otherwise aquire): top ten camping essentials for 2008

Unfortunately it takes more ingredients than "wine, bread and thou" to make a trip truly snappy.  I have searched over hill and over dale to come up with the must-haves for this season.

Countdown to camping nirvana:

4-Bottle Wine Cooler/Personal Fridge
Number 10-4 Bottle Wine Cooler/Personal Fridge.  You can pick this up at CampingWorld.com for $39.  While you're at it, pick up the set of 4 Acrylic Wine Glasses for $12.99 (because it is so NOT snappy to drink wine out of a Dixie cup!).

Number 9-Coleman RoadTrip® Pro Grill.  Easy to move from campsite to beach and back, can you say "instant friend-maker"?  Available at CampingGearPro.com for $237.95.

Number 8-Tiki Outdoor Canopy; the cornerstone of any portable Luau.  Snag this at ImprovementsCatalog.com for $229.99.

Number 7-Columbia Garden Peak Tent.  You can find this 10-person modern day wonder at Kitsapsports.com.  It'll cost ya $269.99.

Number 6-If you have a dog, you will want to take him camping (right Mom?).  If you take him camping, you will need to buy him gear (or you might be dealing with a severe case of hurt feelings).  I would suggest the Coleman Mountaineer™ Pet Tent as an entry level purchase.  There is also a cat version for those looking to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's most daring idiot.  Both are available at SummitCampingGear.com for less than thirty bucks.  You can also  visit  Barkability.com for lots of nifty accessories to enhance your dog's camping experience.

Number 5-Coleman Outfitter™ Camp Kitchen.  So hot it's on fire.  $199.99 at  Coleman.com.

Number 4-Raised height inflatable Aerobed.  Just like being at home.  Except you're sleeping outside.  $279 at AirMattressesBeds.com.  Worth every penny.

Number 3-Coleman 5-in-1 Hide A Sofa Quickbed®.   It's like a sleeper sofa, only for camping.  $94.95 at SummitCampingGear.com.

Number2-Nothing says "Groovy Baby" like an  Inflatable Flower Power Chair and Ottoman Set.  Period.  You can dig it at InflatableChairs.com.  You'll need to fork over $21.95, though.  No free love here.

Number 1-The number one camping gear pick for 2008 is, you guessed it, a battery operated color-changing lava lamp.  Because sometimes you just don't feel like starting a fire.  For a change of pace, you can also try the battery operated fiber optic lamp (which also comes in a U.F.O. version) or  the color changing glitter lamp.  The good folks at ePartyWorld.com even offer bulk discounts on these most snappy items.
