Makin memories at Salisbury Beach
The snappy campers recently spent one of the snappiest.memorial.days.EVA at the Salisbury Beach State Reservation Campground. To mix things up a bit, we headquartered in site D1. Everyone was a little nervous as it is all but impossible to kick the butt of our usual Y1. We were (for the most part) pleasantly surprised.
D1 has it's ups. And it's downs. The view overlooking the salt marsh is ab-fab. The walk to the ocean beach is MUCH shorter on this side of the park (with the jaunt to the riverside no longer). The downside (and this is a biggie) is the motor vehicle traffic VERY early in the morning headed in and out of the park. As D1 is close to that magical hole in the ground where RVs empty their collective bladders (and worse), we were pretty much awakened every morning to the sound of of their mega-engines. That said, we had our customary awesome time and enjoyed the change of scenery.
For those not in the know, here are the deets of this land where the river meets the sea:

For those not in the know, here are the deets of this land where the river meets the sea:
- $22/night for MA residents, 2 bucks more a night for non (ReserveAmerica charges another $9.25 to book online)
- 2 cars/4 people allowed on each site
- bring your pets, but bring their proof of rabies vaccination
- DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT bring your own firewood. It's a really stupid thing to get arrested for. Really.
- Leave your liquor at home and/or hide it really well
Take a stroll through the 17,000 acre Salt Marsh while camping at Salisbury. You'll be glad you did. No lie.
